The 2010 Census has found that the number of Americans with no health insurance in 2010 has not changed since 2009, according to Kaiser Health News.
The article states that the 2010 uninsured rate of 16.3 percent is statistically equal to the rate in 2009. Other key findings from the 2010 U.S Census Report:
- The percent of people covered by private health plans dropped from 64.5 percent to 64 percent, while the rate of people covered by government programs increased from 30.6 percent to 31 percent.
- Among households earning between $25,000 and $49,999, the rate of people without insurance grew 0.8 of a percentage point.
- The percent of people aged 18 to 24 without insurance dropped by 2 percentage points, but was still high at 27.2 percent.
