Nevada passes law requiring the use of patient safety checklists

A new law in Nevada, the Patient Protection Checklist bill, requires Nevada hospitals and other medical facilities to develop state-mandated patient safety checklists, according to HealthLeaders Media.

The article states that the law also requires a hospital patient safety committee to review the checklists each year, and revise them if necessary.  Hospitals and medical facilities must also report on how the checklists were developed and implemented annually.
