The Department of Health to provide funds for disease prevention

The Department of Health and Human Services will provide $750 million in federal funds for disease prevention to hospitals, clinics, chronic disease programs, disease researchers, and the public health infrastructure, according to HealthLeaders Media.

The article states that the goal of the investment is to build on the prevention work already under way to help make sure that work is being done effectively across the federal government as well as with private groups and state and local governments to help Americans live longer, healthier lives.
