Heart Attack death rate is down across the nation

Hospital heart attack death rates have declined in hospitals across the nation, according to new Medicare data.

USA Today reports that death rates of Medicare patients who suffer heart attacks fell from a national average of 16.6% last year to 16.2% this year. This decline comes three years after heart attack mortality and heart failure mortality were added to the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services publicly reported measures.
