AMA releases two reports to improve patient safety

The AMA has released two reports to help hospitals improve patient safety.  The first, A guide to patient safety organizations (PSOs) is online at no cost to all physicians to help them participate in PSOs, a way for physicians to voluntarily report and learn from adverse safety events.

The second report, funded by the Robert Woods Johnson Foundation, focuses on care provided in the physician office, and found that a shared definition, best practices and resources help to sustain quality improvement efforts.
