The number of uninsured Americans climbs

The number of uninsured adults in the U.S. rose by 5.6 million between 2007 and 2009, according to Health Affairs.

The study found that the largest increase in uninsured people was in white citizens, and also residents of the Midwest and South. The authors conclude that these findings stress the importance of planned coverage expansions under the Affordable Care Act.
