California hospitals showing improvement with Lean Six Sigma

Five Providence California hospitals have experienced improvements in patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes as well as $11 million in savings since the implementation of Lean Six Sigma—a combination of Motorola’s Six Sigma management style and lean management principles.

According to HealthLeadersMedia, since introducing Six Sigma in its Southern California medical centers, Providence California has seen across the board improvements in clinical outcomes, care, customer relations, and finance.  The health system now employs up to 10 full-time Six Sigma black belts and 32 change facilitators, among other Six Sigma staff.
